AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal issued a bold challenge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, calling for the provision of free electricity in all NDA-ruled states ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. He pledged to campaign for the BJP if this demand is met.
Speaking at a public gathering titled ‘Janta Ki Adalat,’ Kejriwal criticized the performance of the BJP’s “double engine” governments, predicting their defeat in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. He labeled the “double engine” model as synonymous with “double loot and double corruption.”
“I challenge PM Modi to implement free electricity in all 22 BJP-ruled states before the Delhi Assembly elections in February. If he does, I will campaign for the BJP,” Kejriwal declared.
He further claimed that exit polls indicate a looming collapse for the BJP’s governments in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, Kejriwal accused the BJP of being anti-poor, pointing to the removal of bus marshals, data entry operators, and the suspension of home guard salaries in Delhi.
“There is no democracy in Delhi; it is currently under the rule of the Lieutenant Governor,” he added, highlighting his concerns about governance in the capital.
