AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal is set to relocate to the official bungalow at 5, Feroz Shah Road, currently allotted to his party colleague and Rajya Sabha member Ashok Mittal, on Friday. Kejriwal had previously announced his intention to relinquish all official facilities, including his residence at 6 Flagstaff Road and his security, following his resignation as Delhi Chief Minister last month.
Manish Sisodia, Kejriwal’s close associate and former Deputy CM, has also vacated his official residence at AB-17, Mathura Road, moving to 32, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Road, the official bungalow of AAP’s other Rajya Sabha member, Harbhajan Singh.
Party officials noted that Mittal’s bungalow is ideally located within Kejriwal’s assembly constituency, New Delhi, and close to the AAP headquarters at Dr. Ravi Shankar Shukla Lane (formerly Canning Lane). This arrangement allows Kejriwal to reside with his elderly parents, wife, and children.

In a video message, Mittal expressed his happiness at Kejriwal choosing to stay at his residence, stating, “I invited him to be my guest, and it brings me great joy that he accepted.” Kejriwal will remain at Mittal’s bungalow until he is assigned official accommodation in his capacity as the president of a national party.
Kejriwal plans to oversee the party’s campaign for the upcoming elections in Delhi and other states from his temporary residence in New Delhi.
The former Chief Minister announced his resignation after being released on bail from Tihar Jail, where he spent over five months facing allegations of corruption and money laundering related to the excise policy case. He indicated he would return to the Chief Minister’s post only after receiving a “certificate of honesty” from the electorate in the upcoming Delhi assembly polls scheduled for February next year.
Meanwhile, Sisodia’s shift to Harbhajan Singh’s official residence comes after he resigned while in jail in February 2023. His family continued to live in the Mathura Road residence, even after it was allocated to Atishi, who is now a minister. Atishi’s new residence is still under consideration, with options including retaining the Mathura Road house or moving into the 6 Flagstaff Road bungalow.
