A goods train derailed near Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday night while traveling on the Delhi-Mumbai route. Two wagons of the train derailed near a railway yard, although no injuries were reported. However, the incident has disrupted rail traffic on the down line.
According to officials, the derailment occurred late Thursday night, specifically affecting two tankers loaded with diesel on the Nagda railway route, with one tanker partially overturning. The accident took place near Ghatla Bridge in Ratlam.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, railway officials and employees quickly arrived at the scene. Rescue teams are currently working to restore normalcy, and announcements are being made to warn the public against smoking near the area due to safety concerns.
The goods train was en route to Bakaniya Bhauri station from Baroda and derailed about one kilometer from the Ratlam railway station. An accident relief train has been dispatched to assist in the recovery efforts. Efforts are underway to bring the derailed tankers back on track.
