“Amit Shah Criticizes Congress and NC Over Article 370, Claims ‘Three Generations of Your Family Can’t…'”

Date:

Union Home Minister Amit Shah targeted the Congress-National Conference (NC) alliance in Jammu and Kashmir during a public meeting in Chenani on Thursday. He asserted that “neither they nor three generations of their family” would be able to restore Article 370 in the Union Territory. Shah accused the Congress and NC of being responsible for the deaths of over 40,000 people in J&K, alleging their role in promoting terrorism.

Addressing the audience, Shah emphasized the significance of the ongoing elections, stating, “You will vote not just for Chenani but for the future of all Jammu and Kashmir. This election is historic, as it is the first time after independence that there are no provisions of Article 370 or a separate flag in place.” He challenged the NC and Rahul Gandhi’s claims of bringing back Article 370, firmly stating, “Neither you nor three generations of yours will be able to bring it back.”

Shah further criticized three prominent political families—the Gandhis, Muftis, and Abdullahs—claiming they have only favored their own while fostering a culture of terrorism. “These families have allocated tickets only to their supporters, resulting in just 87 MLAs. In contrast, we have empowered over 30,000 Panch, Sarpanch, and Tehsil Panchayats,” he asserted.

He also highlighted the contrast between the BJP and other political parties, stating, “The world is watching the Jammu and Kashmir elections, which showcase two vastly different visions. The NC, Congress, and PDP have perpetuated terrorism for nearly 40 years, while the BJP is committed to eradicating it entirely.”

Shah held the Abdullah and Nehru families accountable for the violence in J&K, questioning Farooq Abdullah’s whereabouts during critical times, noting, “He was vacationing in London, enjoying expensive motorcycles.”

As for the elections, the second phase in Jammu and Kashmir took place on September 25, recording over 57% voter turnout by 11:30 PM, according to Election Commission data. The third and final phase of the J&K assembly polls is scheduled for October 1, with results to be announced on October 8.
