Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized Congress on Tuesday, likening it to a student who scored only 30% but still failed to pass. Speaking to BJP workers in Maharashtra ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, Shah used the analogy to highlight the performance of the two parties.
“If you want to understand the outcome of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, consider this example. One student consistently scores 90%, while the other typically scores between 20 and 25. In one exam, the top student scored 80%, while the other improved to 30. However, the student with 30 marks still hasn’t passed,” Shah explained, emphasizing the difference between BJP and Congress.
Shah also took a swipe at Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha, who recently remarked in the U.S. that India has progressed to the point where reservations are no longer necessary. “The BJP will not allow this to happen,” he asserted.
Addressing party workers from the Vidarbha and Marathwada regions, Shah highlighted that the BJP’s approach sets it apart from other political parties. “While others hold rallies and press conferences during elections, the BJP organizes meetings with Karyakartas to strategize,” he noted, praising the foundational role of party workers in achieving electoral success.
Shah reiterated that the BJP’s work culture, shaped by Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, prioritizes grassroots involvement. “Booth Karyakartas are essential; they channel the BJP’s energy from Maharashtra to Delhi. Our aim is not just to secure positions but to promote cultural nationalism and build a prosperous, secure nation,” he added.
He urged party workers to engage with farmers and inform them about various welfare schemes initiated by the Modi government, reminding them of the party’s commitment to strengthening its roots, even during challenging times. “We strengthened the party with the slogan of Bharat Mata Ki Jai, even when we won merely 2 seats,” Shah concluded.
